Harris Cook, LLP – Still Available During the Coronavirus Crisis
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has required many businesses to close their doors during this crisis. However, Harris Cook, LLP is still operating and available while stay-at-home orders and social distancing requirements are in effect across Texas.
Rachel L. Wright, Managing Attorney for the firm’s Arlington office, explains how Harris Cook, LLP is continuing to offer legal services to clients given the current environment.
Our city, county, and state regulations regarding COVID-19 have made clear that those who provide legal services are considered an essential business. Thus, Harris Cook is remaining open to serve our clients and anyone needing our assistance and is proud to be able to be of service to the community during this challenging time. With extensive experience in Business Law, Employment Law, Real Estate Law, Estate Planning, and Family Law, among other practice areas, we recognize many of our clients need our help now more than ever before.
How Can the Firm Continue to Offer Legal Services to Clients While Practicing Social Distancing?
It’s important that clients and potential clients know that the legal world has not stopped, even though it may seem that way in many other aspects of our lives. For safety reasons, we are limiting our in-person meetings. Instead, we are relying on video conferencing tools like Zoom and phone conferences as much as possible, while continuing to be available to our clients by email and telephone. Clients and potential clients can feel confident that they will be able to reach an attorney regardless of current stay-at-home restrictions.
Even with the regulations currently in place, courts are still operating, though they are working in a different manner than normal. Hearings are happening by submission, telephone, and video conferencing.
Importantly, cases continue to proceed and matters continue to be resolved on behalf of our clients. Just last week, I attended three different mediations by telephone. In all three cases, the matters were settled successfully and the clients were pleased with the results. Even with the challenges that COVID-19 has put upon us, we have been able to adapt in order to keep moving forward for our clients.
